Why did BP get all the blame for the oil spill and not government?

lack of or poor enforcement of regulation does not excuse BP/transocean's stupidity.

Not in the least but BP/transoceans stupidity combined with poor enforcement does not excuse punishing everyone else in the industry either.

lol @ people giving the inspectors a slide. inspectors are pretty rough in this industry if you've ever worked with them. the only time they aren't is when they are getting some sort of kick back. the person taking the "bribe" to look away for a second is just as responsible as the person offering the "bribe".


a very big reason you see little to no governmental blame is because people don't view the government as a problem causer, only a solver. they ignore the constant flaws and problems caused by our actions(via voting) and those of the government.
