Why Did 1 Of 8 Girls Get Pregnant At Robeson High?

115 pregnant girls at one high school.

Thank goodness for liberal Chicago's sex education programs. Not that abstinence education is any better (it's worse).

So there's help in a teen parent program. And coming soon, right across from Robeson, developers are turning a one-time crack house into a day care for student use. "We have to provide some type of environment for them and some form of support for them," Van Vincent, CEO of VLV Development, said.

Now that's urban re-development!

Parents/family, culture, peers, school education...in order of effectiveness.

115/800 is 1 in 7, not 1 in 8. Guess the reporter needs to go back to high school - hope she packs "protection."

Why single out the crack house line? Would you rather it remain a crack house than a place to help expecting mothers? That's just idiotic.

Well that's a bit traumatic for some people. How about some rubbers, self control or BC?

Well, sure. But for 115 girls at Robeson High, rubbers and self control are a tad irrelevant at this point.

They can get preggers again you know. I doubt doing the dyson on them would teach them anything.

I have passed through Englewood and I am not surprised by this. I wouldn't expect the people of that community to be able to afford BC or condoms. Plus, kids are paychecks in that area.

Actually I have 4 kids and pretty much got my wife pregnant by looking at her with a wicked grin. Snipped since then.

Being made to look stupid in other threads making you want to stalk me?

It isnt about "affording." There are clinics in those areas that hand that shit out for free.

Look, we all know raw-doggin' it is fun, but these kids need to learn to wrap it or stick with anal.

I don't really think it makes sense to blame this on the school's sex ed program - this is a function of the stupidity of the parents whose kids attend the school IMO.

Would you feel the same way if it were abstinence-based?

Because when a sperm fertilizes and egg a babby is formed.

Therefore a minimum of 115 sperms fertilized a minimum of 115 eggs of females at that school.

Probably true. But $750 (or whatever) for (say) 10 abortions for each girl over the next 10 years is a hell of a lot cheaper than paying public funds to support (say) 3 welfare children for each girl to adulthood. And, yeah, load em up with a good supply of rubbers, birth control pills, and Plan B pills for good measure.

And while we're at it, offer $5,000 to each adolescent boy to voluntarily get snipped.

This is an obvious parenting failure. The parents obviously failed to make a case for education and delaying the having of children until one is able to provide for the child themselves.

But instead of blaming the students' parent(s) for their failures, the conservative poster is blaming the school and their sex ed policies. Do conservatives want schools to parent or not?

A crackhouse is an All American Capitalist venture. What's not for a Conservative to love?
