Why Dads should buy a Wii

we were playing a demo at gamestop and my 4 yr old son and 1 yr old girl were really getting into it. I don't think my wife would mind the purchase either.

So did my SO. I hunted for 2-3 weeks to find one. We played it together twice. I played it by myself for about a week after that when I realized that it was all hype and that it wouldn't be used for more than 3-4 weeks before collecting dust so I returned it. I haven't missed it since.

It has a lot of hype value, and I'm a huge fan of nintendo systems. I bought a gamecube and still play it from time to time, and still play my snes every now and then. There's something about the wii that has a huge "toy factor" and not so much of a "console feeling".

I have a video of my son doing the same awesome giggle - his was induced by putting soft blocks on his head (he'd laugh hysterically when they would fall off).

Nice video.

I got one. My kids get really way too loud when they play. 🙁

That'd be the most happiest time of your wife's life - the first time she's ever gotten to play with your Wii.

Not all hype, had ours for over two years and still play it.

Simple. Tell them if they can't do it at a reasonable volume, they can't play it at all. They get one warning, then the Wii turns off for the day.

No reason not to teach your kids consideration of others...

My parents have one... they're both almost 50 and they think it's one of the most amusing things in the world. I guess it's for all ages. 😛

We only fire it up for Mario Kart.
