Why can't women ever give a straight answer?

Maybe I'm overgeneralizing, but when I ask my wife a direct question requiring a yes/no or simple response she either:

A. Asks me a qustion

B. Doesn't answer the question (but answers another question I didn't ask)

C. Goes into a long-winded rant

Can anyone explain this phenomenon?

I don't think that'll even solve the problem... look at dogs, for example.... they lick themselves all day long and STILL need some lovin from the ladies.

Here's my take on it...

Women have two "hats" in their brain. One hat has "answers" in it written on little pieces of paper. The other hat has "emotions" in it written on little pieces of paper. When you ask a woman a question, their brain just grabs one piece of paper from each hat and answers accordingling. If her hormones are out of whack because of medication or those select 1-5 days a month, it's like a power ball and multiplies the dramatic effect.

i think most women feel the same way about dudes, though. my girlfriend NEVER asks simple yes or no question (and yet, she seems to think that are) and always gets annoyed when i dont answer just "yes" or "no"
