Well I recently got back from Asia and thought the same thing. But i think I now know why. Cars in Asia, there's too much variety. IF you have too much variety, you create too much competition and therefore companies can't make as much money. Cars in Asia cost doubvle what they cost here (my jaw dropped when I saw a new S600 V12 :Q) .
anyways, I think it is intentional what the US car makers do. For instance Ford has tons more cars in their lineup worldwide but only sell selectively here. Ok, so maybe you don't like american. Toyota, Honda, do the same. Toyota corolla comes in 2 sizes in asia. Honda CRV comes in 3 sizes as well. I would love to have those cool cars. I would love to drive an Opel here. Oh well. Maybe when I make enough I'll buy it in Taiwan for double what it should cost and have it shipped here for a few grand
