why cant the AMD people quit thread crapping?

American Micro Devices Athlon XP
Intel Pentium Processor

I thought everyone knew that.

Because they have no jobs, thus no critical applications to worry about.

So they just rant.

I forgot that systems built around intel processors never crash, and that ones built around AMD processors always do 😛

Comments like that are as bad as the AMD fanboy threadcraps... your doing the same thing you are making fun of them for doing.

The reason AMD people can't quit thread-crapping is for the same reason anyone else who thread craps can't stop thread crapping: they're @$$hole thread crappers! 🙂 Seriously, a thread crap is still +1 to the old post count! ... Some people just HAVE to make their opinion known. Have you ever tried to buy a car and told people you know that you're buying one? "What kind are you getting?" Answer. "Oh, those cars are crap. Don't buy that. Buy a (poop). Mine's been running fine for years!" You can't ask a question in this world without receiving the answers to many other questions you never asked (like people's opinions, for example).

No matter what you buy, someone is going to tell you it is crap. people are just dumb that way. Last night I told my frindes, brothers friend, that I was geting an XP 1700+ and he said 'AMD is a pile of sh$T" so I just said "fanboys are a pile of sh$t" I dont think he really understood what I meant, but he is pretty dumb. Everything he owns is the 'best' some people are just like that. They need to feel good aobut how they spent their money, and they do it by making fun of someone elses choice

The P4 looks good right now(AXP on .18 is starting to age fast), but 3-6 months ago it didn't look that great, its all based on each maker's product cycle. When thoroughbred comes out with 166fsb it will probably be reversed again in AMD's favor.

Oh and by the way strawberry mom, arent you kind of crapping too?

no wonder people dont want to buy AMD cause when someone says they are going to buy a P4 all they do is thread crap.

that statement kind of insinuates that AMD sux and no one wants to buy it....

The "A" in AMD stands for advanced, not American, and I haven't had the pleasure yet of crapping in one of your threads, but will gladly take the invitation to. 😛

Don't really care........I buy both, run both, brag about both, and biatch about both!🙂 I'm just against "fanatics" of either side........I mean are some people that fanatical about the brand of bread they buy too???????😉

...........BTW............about this........

<< When thoroughbred comes out with 166fsb it will probably be reversed again in AMD's favor. >>

Are you speaking about a second gen. of the Thouroughbred or something because the Thouroughbred which will come along shortly is going to be a die shrunk XP with no other additions or modifications..........according to what I've read............

I bought Intel because in trying to build my AMD system, I came across one dead processor, and two dead motherboards. I gave up after that. And who would have guessed, my P4 and AV-40 worked perfectly without a flaw!

I hope that's the truth. Rumor seems to like a 166 FSB, but that would require new chipset support & DDR memory that's capable of 166 MHz...

I would love to keep my Tiger MP for a while, & two thoroughbreds would be a nice upgrade from dual TBirds or XP's (if I spring for XP's before TBred comes out).

A stupid statement from the other side of the aisle.

Ditto. Currenty a 50/50 split among my six systems. Probably going to build another dualie P3, though, so it'll tip in their favor for a while.

I've been with Intel since my first 286 at 12.5 Mhz, I've also had a:
386 SX @ 20 MHz

I can`t believe I once owned a 386SX 16. First AMD was a DX4/100. (really a DX3/100).

Ever since that FPU fiasco, Intel has lost loyalists. BUT, there wasn`t any thread crapping when people were finding out just how high those early Celerons would overclock. How high were the 300s and 400s going to? I seem to remember a string of articles about that on this very website. EVERYBODY loved Intel then. It goes back and forth. Give it six months to a year and we`ll have AMD thread crappers coming out of our ears.

Anyone who chooses a processor out of spite is retarted

Hey, I resemble that! 😉

I've had Cyrixes and AMDs only here, except for one 83MHz 486 w/Pentium Overdrive (Dell). The fastest were AMDs of course at Tbird 1.333 and XP 1600+.

I buy the CPU that has the best performance for the money (unless I get one for free 😛). IMO, it's pretty stupid to buy a processor for more money because you think it's "cooler", or some such nonsense. Computers and computer parts are not "cool". Just get the best performing parts for the money and be happy. The name means nothing. If Cyrix had the best overal performance I'd have one of those in here right now. But the AMD was the best bang for the buck so that's what I have. To waste several hundred dollars more for absolutely nothing IMO would have been a waste. But, as pointed out previously in this thread, it's your money and you can do as you wish with it.

Yeah, I also remember those articles.

<< there just pissed becuase their computer is a fire hazard, i like my P4 1.5 and my next comp will be a northwood. >>

Hehe
😀

the basis for getting so uptight over CPUs is their insecurity... the basis for their insecurity is their ignorance... most people don't know what the real advantages to one side vs the other are, they just know what their geek friend told them, and they don't want to look stupid so they just repeat whatever they hear... then other ignorant people think that the aforementioned ignorant people know what they're talking about, giving them a feeling of superiority, and causing them to repeat their propoganda everywhere...

speaking of fanboys, is it just me or do people who don't ever watch baseball/basketball tend to be yankees/lakers fans... ?

<dbacks fan ever since my stupid 'stros let RJ go to zona - have really dirty hat to prove it>

I chose AMD because of price/performance/upgradeability The northwood is getting pretty tempting though...and it can have same HD, video, 10/100, sound...

if u can afford a p4...more power to u 😛
i'm cheap, so i get amd cpu's. i guess its a nice coincidence that amd cpu's stack up pretty well against intel cpus 😀

Causal observation, as far as I've seen:

"I just set fire to my AMD" Threads: 3 (although only one incident from you know who) amd fire

"I just set fire to my Intel" Threads: 0
