Why can't PS2Rate Plus change the rate above 50Hz?

HI,
Y is that?

I can only change the rate below 50Hz which isn't what i want.

I have a Logitech Cordless Mouse.

Sounds like you have a USB mouse with a speed-limiting PS/2 adapter. Get a real PS/2 mouse in order to see full benefits with a rate booster...or switch to USB.

the mouse i have is a PS/2

I don't know if there is anything to do with the receiver, because my keyboard is cordless too, and they are using the same receiver.

Will the keyboard limiting the speed?

It could be related to the RF receiver, I suppose. Every technology has its tradeoffs -- looks like you found one here. 🙁

Cordless mice don't work with PS/2 Rate.

I read somewhere that the RF transmission doesn't have enough bandwidth to perform that many samples/second.

I'm not sure how that works with USB cordless mice though...but I read that somewhere.

The latest version of the logitech software allows for the rate to be changed so that you don't need a program like ps2rate. I also believe that the ps2 mice can reach 200 Hz, USB 120Hz, and cordless are stuck at 50-60 Hz, not 100% sure about that but thats the general idea.

oh, i remember the older version of the logitech driver do allow user to change the rate.
the version i am using(latest) doesn't allow user to change it....

but i change it in registry anyways, i found the string(logitech/PS2reportrate), and change it, but it won't take any effects higher than 40Hz,
