Why can't it overclock?

I have a 3.2GHz presscott, a heat demon. I use the intel heatsink, i know very bad. When i try to OC it a little or alot it wont go. Is this a heat problem? It idle's around 58. I was going to get the zalman copper heatsink but i wanted to know if heat was the issue before i spend the 60 dollars. Thanks.

Well if it's idling at 58C that's pretty bad...But it shouldnt really hold you back, try upping your a vcore alot or a bit in your BIOS before increasing your fsb, also look into your ram's speed in voltage, maybe your ram is at it's limits for speed (which you can solve by lowering it's speed) or maybe it doesnt have enough voltage (I usually recommend always having your ram at 2.85v for optimum overclocking performence =) ). If that doesnt help than I really can't help you......

Run Prime 95 and see how hot it gets at default speed. I'm guessing the temp will rise a minimum of 10 degrees, in which case you need better cooling before you overclock.
