Why can't I use my PCI AnyPoint Adapter with my SpeedStream USB DSL Modem?

For some reason, when I try to install the anypoint software, it tells me there are incompatible network adapters, including my DSL Modem, and it says I have to remove them.

But if I remove my dsl modem, then install the anypoint... I cannot share my DSL.

So after I install the AnyPoint software, I try to install my dsl modem... and it freezes.

The only clue it gave me to resolving the program is "If I know enough about networking, I can change the settings of the incompatible device so that I can still use it."

Well, I don't know a thing about networking... Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks

Remove your DSL & software. Install AnyPoint software but tell it not to install anything else but the driver. Set up a fix IP address for this adapter. Then try to install your USB DSL modem back. If you succeed, then the problem was with the software that deals with internet sharing. You can then use something else.

I don't have the same setup. I've used an Intel USB Wireless Anypoint adapter with Fujitsu RJ45 connector external DSL modem.
