I have a wireless setup and was wondering why I cannot transfer files via MSN Messenger from one PC to another. I can chat, but for whatever reason transferring files just keeps getting cut off. Even with my firewalls disabled, it does not work. :|
I'm using Netgear MA 814 router with an orinoco gold card for my laptop and an Netgear MA 111 USB Adapter on another PC.

Can anyone shed some light on this?

You need to open the correct ports on your router to transfer files. I forgot the exact port numbers but look up msn messenger port numbers on Google

you will never be able to transfer files between two computers on the same LAN using messenger, and you will only be able to transfer from one or the other of the computers out to a machine on the WAN. The ports mentioned need to be forwarded to a particular machine on the LAN.
