Why can'T i run HD tach

I cant run HD tach, i dunno why, i get a blue screen with a VXD error everytime, i thought it was no big deal so i downloaded sandra and tried to run there HD test, but that locked up the comp too, Any ideas guys, click on the link in my sig to see the hardware im using. Thanks!.

Use ver 2.60 , 2.61 crashes on me too .

did you try again after turning off auto insert notification for cd drive with HDTach?

Ok i tried version 2.52, it works, problem is its says my read burst speeds are 2.1Mb's a second, thats crap. I got a maxtor 20GB 7200rpm ATA 66 drive and a maxtor 30GB 7200rpm ATA 66 drive. And i can tranfer file between them a hell of a lot faster than that, about 5-7 seconds for a 60 meg file, according to my read burst result that file should have taken me 30 seconds. Why is HD tach messed up?

Remove those crappy Via IDE drivers and all will be fine.

nm, re booted and now all is well, burst reads of 30-32Megs a sec.
