Why can't i play certain dvds

I have this Macross Zero dvd and i can't play it in any of my comp drives,, i have nec 3520a and an hp 200j,, why is this. it works in my dvd player hooked to the tv
 
I have a hunch that this sort of explains why...

IC,, i'm just trying to figure out if there is a certain line of DVDs that were made so u can't play them in a comp.. anddd an excuse to buy the new NEC.. grrr
