Hi,

I rented 4 movies and 3 of them work just fine, but i can't get the "wicker man" to play!

I can hear it turning or spinning (whatever it's doing in there) and the green light flickers but no picture comes up : <

After waiting 5-10 minutes window comes up ( blue screen) and states " insert disk wicker man into drive E", so i eject it and put it back( green light flickers) but nothing happens.

I tried to clean it ,still no good.

This is the first time this has happen .

DMA is enabled and using WINDVD.

Any suggestions?

Thanks so much : >

Ok how about a stab in the dark:

try this:

put dvd in dvd drive holding down the keyboard shift key, then after the dvd drive light goes out ,release shift key and start windvd. if it runs ,then another program is trying to run at same time off the dvd disk.

examples are: pcfriendly,interact,....etc (they are dvd software programs included on dvd)

these load in the backgroung and will almost always cause problems.

shift key bypasses autorun and allows you to choose the program you want started.

I don't know if it is Your problem ,but it is an easy check, and usually the fix for me

hope this helps

Hardware addict,

Well it worked for the first 3 chapters then it froze and started the same thing all over again.

I'll have to return it and try another one, maybe the disk is beat up.

Thanks for that tip tho, i'll remember that next time ,THANKS : >
