OK, this thing is really REALLY getting on my nerves. I have a program called Asymetrix Digital Video Producer which I have used since the beginning of time to edit video. Till now it has never given me the slightest problem.
Now whenever I capture a file using ATI's 7.1 or 7.5MMC for WinXP DVP says "compressor not available" or "internal error". If I capture the file using DVP's capture tool this does not happen. The problem is I want to use ATI's software since I can set it to record at a certain time (I have also tried IUVCR and it has the same problem).
I used to use this card with ATI's original software (whatever came on the original CD) under WinME and I was able to edit the files in DVP (though it only allowed me to capture using ATI's VCR1 compressor (which is suck)).
Anyone know how I can fix this without buying any software (or stealing it)? The only solution I have found is Intervideo's Winproducer which seems to work like DVP but will work with these "defective" files. Too bad Intervideo wants $100 for it (not gonna happen). I would GREATLY appreciate any help!
