Why can't I change the refresh rate on my GeForce?

I just installed an Asus Geforce (not GeForce2) with nVidia's reference drivers. Everything is working fine, performance is on the mark, and all is good. All, that is, except that I can not change the refresh rate! Under the "Adaptor" tab in the advanced display properties, there is nothing. Anyone have any idea why this might be and what I can do to fix it?

I'm running WindowsME if that helps anything.

It's because your monitor isn't installed right. Install the right drivers for your monitor or use a Plug and Play monitor setting.

Got the same problem with my ASUS 7700. My eMachines monitor did not come with any dedicated drivers, so I installed it as Plug and Play, and the only frequency'll stay at is 60 Hz... bloody thing!

yeah, go install the monitor drivers for the specified monitor...

the system cant give refresh options if it doesnt know what it is.
