Why can't I access the windows update page?

Yes, our buddies in Redmond force us to use IE for Windows Update.

If you want to use WU you have to play by the rules I guess. How difficult is it to just click on the Windows Update option at the top of the Start Menu? :roll:

Yea I already took care of it. I don't mind having to use IE for it...the pansy thing was a joke.

I know that if you want you can usually find *exe versions of the windows updates laying around microsoft.com's nook's and crannies.

At least for W2k.

That way if you want to you CAN install them thru mozilla, but I wouldn't. IE is much easier and quicker.

Although I would be usefull if you want to connect using a alternative OS so you don't have to risk exposing Windows to the internet.

yes you can download the patch exes from the technet site with just about any OS:
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/security

The other option would be to enable the windows update client and than you wouldnt have to use any browser...
