Why can't each project get there own fourms on Anandtech

Should there be separate Nvidia and ATI graphic card forums? Separate AMD and INTEL forums?

When I ran SETI, I just typed SETI in the search box and it effectively eliminated other projects. I do the same with DPAD now. But so many of us run multiple projects, or switch around, the multiple forums would be a pain.

Personally I think we get a better since of community with everybody in the same forum.

It would also be awfully lonely in any forum other than seti at the moment.

I would much prefer it to stay as it is, for the same reasons as the others listed above...

Merry Christmas to you all... If you celebrate it.

Well, it does seem to be hard to do, separating forums..
They've been requesting a separate programming forum for ages now, and still nothing. Currently those topics reside in the 'SOFTWARE - APPS, PROGRAMMING AND GAMES' forum.

And indeed, we now are a real community...

I just thought it would be more of a help to the smaller Teams. New people coming to DC tend to join the more popular project, seti right now, But you guy's make a good point.

Subforums would be an ideal solution to grouping project-specific topics into categories... These were promised long ago (not long after Fusetalk started supporting them, and that was over a year ago I think), and needless to say, that hasn't happened.

Oh well, we get by... People have gotten pretty consistent in putting their project name in the title of their post, so for me it's easy to scan the first page for "F@H" and catch just about everything I need to see. 🙂

Quite often people switch from the bigger projects to the smaller ones too because curosity grabs when they see new projects mentioned🙂

Well, we could still keep the DC Fourm as a meeting place but have seperate fourms for individual projects.

Thats why I started with F@H... 😉

Part of the reason I joined Team Anandtech was the variety of projects you have to offer. I like having the freedom to change projects whenever I feel like it, and even to run multiple projects at once. To say basically what Fingers said in my own words, I'm afraid breaking up the forum would make us cliquish in each project, and separate the TeAm too much.

Just to let my Teammates know, my post wasn't to start problems or anything but to see where we stand on this. 🙂
