"Temp ban, two weeks. Enjoy."

Not only does he lock the thread, he tosses out a two-week ban, which, of course, he doesn't mention in his closing post. Why would he, after all, he has a facade of institutional academic detachment to maintain.

All because he can't handle a civil discussion. It's sad, that the only way he can express his viewpoint is to silence any opposition. That-- and namecalling.

Ars is pretty straightforward about it's bias and non-professionalism though - I go there occasionally for some humorous (but pretty informative) reads.

Yeah, the mods will ad-hom you and then ban you for pointing it out...

Ars pwns, but I must say, it is alot more down to earth around here.

LOL, it must be pretty f'd up over there then, because it's not down to earth around here. "ATOT, where derision is the word of the day."

Well its still the Internet anyway. Each place has its own unique charachter.

i find that the ppl at ars are usually far more mature than the ppl here - as a result i spend more time there than here. In fact, i had read that thread and was pretty sure that this thread was going to be referring to that one at ars.

btw, i support the thread being locked - it was really soapbox material. and it seems that caesar decided that you were calling him a liar on his forums... his forums - he can do whatever he wants.

Interesting read.

Summary: based on your arguments you can't make fine distinctions, and label anyone who can make them a deluded hypocrite. You also insist that you understand jewish law well enough to decide what is hypocritcal based on having a jewish roomate.

Vacation: earned.

Head on over to our Politics and News forum, it's your kind of place.

Cliff notes for the whole fiasco? Don't feel like reading P&N crap here, let alone at another forum.

Look up. Our n00b OP decided he understands jewish law better than religious scholars, well enough to tell them they are "violating the spirit" of laws he's never read.

If I wanted to read ArsTechnica, I would go read ArsTechnica. I don't come to Anandtech to read ArsTechnica.

thats pretty stupid, we are always linking articles and such posted elsewhere, how is this any different than linking an article in a car forum somewhere about a new car?
