Why aren't there any GOOD violent car racing games?

Carmageddon 2 was the end of the line for violent car racing games, Carma 3 sucked gameplay wise (too kiddie graphics) and I don't know of any other games of the same type. After playing with the Quake Rally SDK, it's gotten me into the mood to run over people again.. anyone have any other suggestions?

Unfortunatley, Carma2 will not run in win2k or XP, which are the only OS's I have installed at the moment...

I saw some people playing it on a PS a couple of times.. graphics sucked horribly, and there were no people to run over 🙂

I didn't even know they made it for the computer though!

Grand Theft Auto

I just love it when u just smack some random pedastrian and they say "hey fuvk off" or "as$hole"
then u bust out ur machine gun and kill the person or run him over with that Viper u just stole

If you want "racing" in it.. then try Carmaggedeon but i think it's really relaly old

Twisted metal did make it to the pc, but i think you'll be disappointed with it in comparison to newer games.

There was a really old (3d with 2d people like doom) game demo that I liked a lot where you play a taxi driver that gets various dangerous assignments and you battle with other cars. I'd like to see a modern remake of that game.

Also, i'll put in another vote for grand theft auto and grand theft auto 2. I haven't played the 3rd version, but it looks really cool.

You're right, there haven't been any good violent racing games. I remember playin Road Rash and beatin other bikers with lead pipes and chains...

::sigh:: those were the days

Now I just have Grand Theft Auto 2 and Carma2 to play.

GTA3 should be out early next year... and if they do a proper port on it, its gonna whoop serious ass on PC 😀 😀 😀

the thing about GTA is that you have the ghetto 3rd person view. In Midtown Madness, the graphix are cool, but the people JUMP out of the way! It is IMPOSSIBLE to hit them, and because of that, the games SUCKS!
I too want to know of a good graphics game with cars and running over people...I need violence!

you just listed some of my favorite games ever since I entered the world of PC gaming. Carma1 was great but because of the graphics and physics, carma2 was better in my opinion.

I really hope they come out with a GTA3 for the pc. I hate consoles for taking away the good games

Kyguy, I bet I was more addicted to Carma2 than you😛

Max, what do you mean "was"??? I played Carma2 every time I could at work this summer, I got more than 10 people hooked on it 😀

referring to the topic..

because "Guns don't kill people, kids who play video games kill people." (tm Penny Arcade) 😀

**or something like that...

Ahhh the memories of Carma 1 & 2.

Carma1 was the reason I got into gaming, even had to buy me a 4MB VooDoo add-on card, just so I could see the people. I loved that game. I will never forget playing it about 12 hours straight after getting some Glide luvin'

Carma2 was the reason I upgraded to a P-II 400 from my old 133. I remember playing the demo, on my 133, and have never seen such a slideshow in my life.

Was really pumped about Carma3, it sucked azz, I cant believe they took such a great idea and just killed it, with 3.

Twisted Metal 2 is probby the game I've spent the most time on deathmatching... My friends and I had some mean deathmatches in that game..

BUT YEA!! I agree that there needs to be some new racing games that are fvcking awesome... San Francisco Rush 2049 for Dreamcast is the last one that I thought was cool.
