why arent lie detector tests used in court?

I'm currently developing The Thought Detector. Why rely on physiological responses to lying, when you can probe into the very mind itself, rifle throuh your deepest thoughts and determine beyond the shadow of a doubt whether or not that thought was a lie?

There's an MRI lie detector that was demonstrated in research. The researchers declined to comment on it's possible uses as a lie detector although it's a totally obvious application. I bet such a device could be made that is far more accurate than current polygraphs. Also, I think it could be more accurate than trials (which aren't very accurate at all). Such a device would have incredible implications for law and society at large.
