live at home (i want to be able to bring a girl back and uh... do stuff... without worrying about family)

Interesting question. My bf and I just split up, extremely amicably, because we don't feel that dating each other is where God wants us right now (if I didn't feel that, I'd be making a much bigger fuss than I am) and because the relationship we were having wasn't to either of our satisfaction at the moment. Being single again, I'm not looking for another guy, not at all interested. I don't feel like I need a guy to make my life all good, and I enjoy being friends with guys without all the dating-stuff messing up the fun of hanging out with them. Fortunately, maybe because I make my views pretty widely known, no guys seem to consider me as anything potentially female, just as someone to hang with. So, why'm I single? God's timing, lack of desire for a guy right now, and (I'll be honest) whether because they know I'm not interested or because I'm not interesting enough, no guys like me *like that*. :)

b/c my ex said I wasn't romantic enough and broke up with me. Two months later, she apparently thought one of my friends was, so she's with him now...:(

I like bar hopping and hooking up with strangers. These are not exactly the types you want to settle down with...:)

To all the guys who are so scared to talk to femmes: don't view talking to us as a potential solution to your singleness - if that's on your mind you'll never be able to make conversation. Talk to us because we're interesting to talk to (well, some of us I'd hope) and because you want to be friendly. Practice by making friends with some girls, not focusing on just one. Get used to that before even worrying about being single.

sound advice for sure... it is a lot easier to talk to girls when you're actually interested in the conversation :)

Not terribly interested.

I'm a very private person.
I"m also an extremely busy person (I just handed in a project for 1 single course that took a sum of nearly 400 hours for 4 of us in the last month. Keep in mind this is 1 course out of 4), and I probably wouldn't have an hour a week to spend with her, which wouldn't be very fair.

I just don't feel the need for it. Don't have much of a sex drive. And for companionship and what not...well like I said I'm a private person I need some time to myself. Having someone around all the time would drive me insane. And I have lots of friends (male and female) who I spend a good chunk of time with. So I"m not lonely.

I am also really shy and couldn't talk to a woman to save my life. So if I ever change my mind I'm kinda hooped.

But right now I'm very satisified with my life without having a girlfriend, and I really don't see what it would add for me right now. Maybe in 2 or 3 years when I'm done university and have more free time.

The girl I've been in love with for 5 years is probably my best friend, and we do stuff together all the time, go to movies, go swimming, talk about all kinds of stuff.

But I couldn't work up the nerve in a year to tell her I love her.

Good thing she's got a BF and I don't really want her for a GF, so I can just go on enjoying a great friendship.

Edit: No I didn't just contradict myself, and no I'm not in denial. I love her quite fully. But I don't really want her for a girlfriend, nor would I want her around me *all* the time.

After me and my ex split (a year and four months ago...), I haven't had interest in any other girls... I still got my mind on her :eek: But we go to school on opposite sides of the country, so there's not much I can do try and get her back.

I've been single for the last 14 months because my ex had an ex that she didn't tell me about and ended up liking again. I'm single right now because I've fallen for the wrong girl and I doubt anything is ever going to happen between us.

Right on. I know the feeling

I tend to be a more private individual myself. I have no problems talking to women.

I guess I would consider myself rather picky also.. /me shrugs

Can't afford the down side..divorce. Everybody I know that went thru it is in financial ruin.
