Seems to me that the answer to this question goes back in time a bit to when we were on four legs and you could tell a male from a female when she was in esterus and hugely swolen and bright red like you see in female chimps. Males paid a lot of attention to female behinds, but a funny thing happened on the way to bipedalism. We stood up and the rear end goodies moved more to the front. We have evolved to be attracted to certan charicteristics, such as males attracted to breasts, and females attracted to ... certan male atributes... whatever.
