Why are used P3s still so expensive?

I've noticed over in FS/FT that used P3s seem to be still highly-priced....650-ish for like $65-75, and on up. Why so much? Especially when you could get an Athlon 1.4 for $65-75.

Really!?! I should sell my 600e.

;cool:

I'd hazard a guess that it's supply and demand. There are a LOT of Intel MBs (BX, especially) and my 600e (for example) gives a nice O/C to 800Mhz - perfect for a second (non-demanding) system.

And, there is an abundance of cheap and stable dual processor motherboards for the S370 platfrom. The ACorp 815e over at CompGeeks for ~$40 shipped comes to mind... With IDE RAID no less...

And not everyone is confident enough to mod a cheap new tualatin-celly for their BX-boards (and outperform a P4 2GHz with it) :Q 😛

BX rulez!!! 😀
