Why are UPS uniforms on ebay so expensive???

Delivery guys can get away with almost anything. I've walked in and out of stores with boxes and never have been questioned. You can walk through most buildings and have access to parts the public won't. Not that I am saying that I would do anything illegal.

If you view the completed items for this search diesel posted, some did sell. Although it seems funny that the same 3 or 4 people bought them at high prices this guy is selling them for.

KK

maybe cuz theyre stolen or something. people can pose as ups delivery guys (like people pose as police officers) and get the victim to open the door for them.

hahah holy crap what a ripoff...

if u guys really want some uniforms contact me 😛

ill see what i can do..

they've been stingy lately tho :/

Sure beats having to beat the delivery boy unconscious, *then* strip him naked, *then* dispose of the body. Just the costs associated with the lyme to speed up the rotting in the bathtub make this seem like a bargain.

Reviving this thread from the dead as I received a related notice in my company email today:

The COMPANY_OMITTED Information Security Office has received a warning within the last 30 days that an unknown person(s) purchased several thousand dollars worth of United Parcel Service (UPS) uniforms through an online auction. Law enforcement is investigating this purchase, however, no suspects have been identified. There is a possibility that these uniforms could be used to gain unauthorized access to office buildings

The email went on to include details of the company's policy about security precautions that should be followed at the company.

I am guessing that the FBI will ask UPS to keep tighter control of their uniforms from this point forward.

Fear the UPS man!

Just got this email at work:

Please be advised that within the past thirty days over $30,000 worth of UPS uniforms have been purchased on eBay. While uncertain as to the intent of the purchaser(s), law enforcement agencies are concerned these uniforms may be used by those with the intent to obtain unauthorized entry into facilities. Additionally, though not confirmed, there is a similar report that some utility company uniforms have been stolen.

All district security coordinators have been advised of this situation and asked to re-emphasize with the security guards the Department's policy:

All packages are to be delivered to shipping and receiving;
Security guards are not to receive packages; and, most importantly,
Delivery personnel are not to enter Department office facilities unescorted.

We will continue to keep you advised as additional information is received.
