Why are threads being locked?

I'll prolly be banned for this but:

Seems like any thread with any sexual connotation is being locked.

WTF???

C'mon, at least put in WHY you're locking the thread.

I noticed a couple today that I didn't think deserved a lock... But, it's not my decision to make. Generally the mods are pretty fair, but you're right, a reason in the locked thread would be nice (and often there is a reason given)

I understand that the mods have the godlike ability to lock/delete/ban at will. However, I don't think it's fair for them to lock/delete/ban without some explanation.

In fact it sucks royally.

Most of the locks are common sense.

I agree most of this crap should be locked/deleted. Kudos to those that do so. HOWEVER, I think the mod's response,

is both childish and unprofessional; not to mention, irresponsible. If you can't give a rational response, just don't give one. You knock down the respect that other mods have earned. I'm not looking for a problem with the mods but I think that this response was a bit "over the top". He may have been a d$#khead but you don't have to go to his level.

I thought it was a pretty good response 😛 It's something I would have said to threads that are this stupid 😉

Wow. What a mature response! I feel much better now.

Wow - talk about a delayed response. Waiting for someone to take the first step, huh?

No, it's called not noticing it until someone pointed it out to me.

I don't hover over threads looking for a mod quote. And no, I don't think it was an appropriate response either.

AT mods at one time used to tell us what was going on. They used to tell us when we've crossed the line so we'd be able to avoid crossing that line in the future. But it seems that every once in a while a mod applies unknown rules and leaves the rest of us going "huh?"

If no threads with sexual content will be allowed, just say so. There was nothing bad or even R rated about the threads that were locked yesterday. True, both were blatant attempts at getting attention, but so are 90% of the posts on OT. Plus, the initial poster was someone claiming to be female, but a bunch of us had doubts. So what? And if it was because the mods knew something about him/her, and that's why they were locked, it wouldn't kill us to know that too.

What kind of fantasy world have you made up for yourself? You belong right alongside the people who've been claiming that AT has gone down the shitter. It's all relative to how you perceive the forums - so naturally you're going to say that the mods used to explain themselves, yet, the percentage of locks that go unexplained has not changed. Keep telling yourself your lie.

Pretty interesting stance for someone who has "UNBAN MILLENNIUM" in his sig.

Seeing as that's you're best response, I'll assume that what I've said is valid.
