They take some skinny people and try to fatten them up over a few weeks. Lot's of food and no exercise. It's pretty interesting and entertaining. One guy seemed to store excess calories as muscle mass. I hate him.

Perhaps BBC should watch the lecture by Dr. Lustig from UCSF 😛

Link?

EDIT: n/m, found the other thread.

Was actually going to send that to you on AIM, just now. Watch carefully about the alcohol part.

There is a guy in this show just for you SC, he lived on just vitamins and water for over a year on a weight loss program. :Q

I'm watching it right now. Is it later in the show or was it just that brief mention early in it? Either way, Christ. He's a huge guy. Vitamins are definitely necessary in his case. I don't know why he would do it that way. That's weird though. You would have to get BACK into the habit of... eating? Lmao.

watched that and

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v...PwRuj4&feature=related

was pretty entertaining and pretty much demonstrates how ineffective crash diets are

girl goes on 500 cal/day diet and only loses 17 pounds in 8 weeks

the thing is she looked worse after since it looked like what she lost was mostly muscle and still looked skinny fat (relative)

a healthy calorie deficit and workout regime and she could have achieved that while not feeling like crap the entire time

How heavy was she to begin with? I can't watch it from work. If she was like 130-140 pounds than losing 17 pounds is never an "only" thing.

I mainly ask because you said she "still" looked skiny fat" losing pounds when one is skiny is a whole different story from when one is 200+ pounds.
