The russian bride thingy.. umm most foreign underdeveloped countries run this sort of business (usually eastern european and asian nations) Most women are sold..(modern day slave trade) or others volunteer to have a better life in a new country with an established husband.

Good point, many women live in poverty in these countries and figure if a man can pay to bring them to the US then the man can afford to give them a good life.
I imagine for a number of them they end up with a man who is abusive in some way and will find themselves wishing they were back home.
For many I imagine they'll end up with some geek guy who couldn't meet a girl to save their lives. Probably not too bad a thing though so long as the woman can look past the person's flaws and find a happy relationship with them. *shrug*

Not sure. They have a site in Russian http://www.dating.ru/ which is for Russians to meet Russians, and they don't charge these fees. But if you are American looking for love in all the wrong places, I am sure they'll take your money.
