why are there RC5 packets?

why not just crack the work units? i like to see more numbers complete, makes me feel better 😛
or even if it showed the keys being cracked/sec... that would be nice
 
Dnet uses packets because they need something that can be sized differently. Single WUs would crowd their network(and our Pproxy network), and large WUs would take too long on older machines(which is a bad thing, since the ability to use smaller machines is a selling point). So, Dnet uses multiple sized packets in order to serve bother markets.🙂
 
ahh, i see. my PIII 500 takes it's sweet time going through one packet sometimes(usually the 32WU ones) i would go nuts waiting for a 486 to do that 😕
well, my crackrack(hopefully soon-to-be) will consist of k6-2's, pentiums and 486's, so we'll see if my patience holds out 😉
