Why are there no good, lightweight, tablet pcs for vista?

Seems like all thin & light / "ultraportable" tablet pcs are stuck with 1-2 year old technology.
If you look at vendor websites (Asus, Acer, ...) they all come with Windows XP and obviously would strain to run vista.

But it's the only one (and I personally hate the little nob for a mouse ... why not touchpad?)

It saves space. You get used to it after a while. I would love to get a X60 tablet. I have the X60s.

The HP is heavy. 🙂

Wow! I didn't realize the X60 tablet offers 1400x1050 resolution! That's a nice change from their standard 1024x768 for their 12.1" laptops.

i'm the opposite. i have a t40 (almost 4 years old) and i prefer the nob over the touchpad. been looking for a replacement laptop, and would prefer the thinkpad b/c i think i'll really miss the nob if i went with something else. i just don't want to spend nearly 2k on another thinkpad.

You might take a look at this one just released by HP. Two of my teacher friends bought two of them last week, and are very pleased with them. They come with Vista installed.

This one looks nice.
First one ... now if they only could make one that is even smaller and has no internal optical drive.
