Because they're sick of the idiots around them? Or perhaps they have severe emotional problems and are trying to meet a guy outside of their sphere of influence? I have a female friend who's 18 years old, easily has the body of a porn star, but has some serious issues, has had problems with abusive men for years. I have no doubt she would try an online dating service if only to meet some people outside of her town.
