I never played CS but I play Rainbow 6 and Quake 2. I host my own server and stated explicitly any sort of profanity will result in instant boot. That works very well. Sometimes I pick a woman character to play just for fun and get nasty comments...of course they get kicked out of my server.

I think what bugs me is the rampant use of the words &quot;whore, bitch, raped, etc.&quot; during the game. I enjoy playing the game as much as anyone else, but those kind of words just turn me off, regardless of what the intention was. I know I've been guilty of using &quot;rape&quot;, but since that last thread where people found it offensive I've definitely stopped using it.

I enjoy playing with GF, myputer, and now Lily27 on Neo's. It always adds more excitement to the game and makes for fun conversation. Half the time I'm laughing so much that my aim is way off. Actually, my aim is pretty off in general hehe.

I am Q3 player but that goes with the territory. You have to realize you are playing a game where you kill to win. People hate to lose. You see it as a game, some people take it seriously. So that is why you get the insults when you get the best of them. What you do is start talking a little smack of your own. When you get the best of those that insult you, let them know about it. I purposely seek out and try to destroy those that go off like what you are saying. And most of the time I be bringing the pain.

As one of the many male gamers here, I for one would like to whoop on a woman from time to time. I'm sure I've come across them already and have beaten them down already as I'm 100% positive I've had my ass handed to me already by a woman. I like playing against many people, so it doesn't bother me if you are female and kicking my butt. Skill is skill, my girl can beat me at tennis because she has skill -- I may be bigger, 80 pounds heavier, lift some weights, but her skill is 10X greather than mine.

I played at this LAN party, which was hosted by a couple at their apartment (16 people in a 1 bedroom apartment!). Our hostess was pretty darn good, but I got the best of her in a few maps (namely q2ctf and some q3test maps). She wasn't happy, but she did get me in the other maps.

If you seriously don't want to be bothered while playing, then just don't respond -- I ignore all the whiners about my playing all the time. I have changed my name to Amy once in a while to see what happens and there is flood of questions asking my gender and remarks made about it. I smile, ignore their words and proceed to open the can of whoop-ass! Take it all in stride and find some servers with admins that kick loud and unruly players.
