I would agreed with you but I hate the military, and feel we already have way too big of one.
What an ignorant azz wipe you are.
Why because I don't like a government organization that costs us to much of our tax money and social security money?

Because you don't have a clue why you have the freedoms that you do. You don't have a clue what it took and who sacraficed to give you those freedoms. You don't have a clue what it takes to maintain those freedoms. You just don't have a clue.

Well @sshole, yes I do. Its not the military that gave me those rights its the people in it. My grandfather was in a japanese prison camp for three years, he was on the baton death march, he has a purple heart and a silver star, we still have the sword he took from the Japanese General, that ran the camp, that he killed before he left. You don't know me, don't tell me what I know and don't know b|tch!

Edited for Dave because he has a large bug up his @ss about something :p

I'm sorry if I sounded disrespectful, I have full respect for anyone in the military(they are good people), I just don't like the organization that governs them.

I agree. I think that's the problem I have with the military too.

I don't know. I fully respect whatever she wants to do, but I don't really like the idea of her being gone for so long at a time.. And being in the military, especially the times we live in now.. It's not exactly comforting.. lol

We don't want people that don't want to be there so that's fine. The attrition rate would be massive if you had forced inductuion of people. But don't come into a thread bagging on poeple who are basically underpaid, overworked, underappreciated and put LIVES on the line impling there're dumb or Too big or not worth your time.

Anyway this trade angle is just one of thousand of great benefits of military service, read Dave's post abopve to see some others. It's certainly a great deal for kids who don't nessasarly want college right away to still give direction and become productive member of society. All you have to give up is a little of your self serving pride until you relize the team is more important than you are and you'll fit in just fine.

Edited for Dave because he has a large bug up his @ss about something

I asked sabastedo to send me his grandfathers name in PM so that I could read his grandfather's MOH citation. I would want to do so with anyone who was a Bataan survivor and a MOH recipient. I cannot find his grandfathers name on any of the sites that have complete listings of all the MOH recipients. I asked him, via PM, to edit his post until he could verify with his mother that he is citing the correct award. This will probably be my last post here but that is what the alleged bug is all about.

You know, falsely claiming to have a MOH will incur an extremely large fine and possible jail time. While nobody has yet to be jailed for such a crime, you don't want to be facing the punishment.

Not only that, it's a defilement to the true men who sacrificed their asses for the idiots who think they can fake being recipients.

Calm down. No one is accusing you of anything. If you would have left this in PM where it started you wouldn't even be having this conversation. Your grandfather was a brave man and you should be proud of him. You should get his citations and post them on your website.

U hit that nail on the head.

While he was in boot camp and out at sea, i was drinking and messing with his sister.

J/K......seriously just kidding.

I love the military, just not for me. Law enforcement is my bag.

Did you know after serving your country you get points 10-20 points depending on department you apply for... this can be very considerable and even a determining factor for a competitive position in law enforcement. Plus most dept's run a miltary protocol as far as dress and chain of command also very useful.

BTW-Your sister hung around my base to meet all us guys with money in our pockets and a nice hair cut:)

Or you all could do what i do and get the best of both worlds... i'm going to college, majoring in marketing and electronic business technology. I'm in rotc so they are giving me 20k a year now and all i have to do to repay them is go into service for 6 years after i graduate, as a second luey in either intelligence or finance corps. so thats a decent chunk of change there. and i'm active in all aspects of my fraternity...

so lets recap...
in college getting an education
in a fraternity getting the "social experience"
in rotc getting most of my college expenses paid off
when i graduate i'll be in army getting major experience for whatever career path i decide to choose.

and for who ever is saying making 60k/yr at 21 is nothing, you need to open your eyes and take a look around at the world. even my mom is only making something like 29k/yr and she's 45.. i know her and billions of other people would love to be making 60k/yr right now.. greed is a bad thing, keep wanting more and more and you will miss out on the truly good things in life..
