Why are some games not full screen for me?

Hi guys, I am playing games on Steam, and I see that some games fill out the entire screen on 1920x1080 resolution, but some do not. Like the game Crysis 2, I get full screen when I use my nVidia 550 Ti card, but it only shows up at about 80% of full-screen on my Radeon 7770 card. Do I have to adjust something or is that normal with Radeon cards?

(I already checked the scaling on the Radeon card. It plays AC: Brotherhood on full-screen; just not Crysis 2 though.)

You might have to change the resolution for that game. It may not be programmed for 1920x1080.

Thanks for responding. So, you're saying that it depends on the resolution that the game was originally programmed for? That gives me something to think about; I'm not a hardcore gamer by any means.

Yes it could.for exemple i run a game call after dark.old game from win 98 and the game runs 800x600.my screen is 1920x1080 and the game runs very small.

This is actually a very well known issue with Crysis and Crysis 2 on AMD cards when using a 1080p monitor with HDMI hookup.
A quick google search will find several solutions.

The one i remember that worked easiest/best for me was disable full-screen in the game menu, restart the game and as soon as a big eye appears in the game window press alt+enter. I remember sometimes it took a few tries but it worked.

The other solutions involve creating a custom resolution, or a border-less window mod.
