Why are porn companies still in buisness?

they are teh ones that post most of the free porn on the internet.

people actually do whip out their CC numbers and pay for this stuff. .....I think.

somewhere, somehow, someone is making money off of porn. it's a crazy concept to fathom but like most mysteries in life, you just have to accept it and roll with it.

You'd be wrong on the bluray aspect. The porn industry backed HD-DVD. No royalties = cheaper to cost to pass to consumer.

you aint kidding. when i worked for comcast, we had a monitor in the operations room which told us three things:

(1) Total payments via IVR
(2) Total Payments via Agent
(3) Total Dollar Adult Entertainment Purchases

#3 usually numbered in the millions

the markup on ppv is 100%. i wouldn't be surprised if it was higher on porn.

Pornography has been a HUGE influence on media distribution, including videotape, video disc and internet based distributing, and pushes each to be better and more available.
