Why are people in these forums so mean?

You contribute to these forums to try to help others by sharing your experiences, or ask for help from others to gain insight from their experiences. More often than not, someone will post and totally tear down another person, who is only trying to contribute. OK, so I'm not 100% correct 100% of the time. But that is no reason for someone else to be so mean. It's not obvious that I never did this, or did do that. It's only obvious that I had a different experience than you. And I am sure that this post will also draw more mean people who will tear me down for this. It's just been my experience in these forums, that's all. And I already know, if I don't like it here, I should go somewhere else. I will. 🙁

Seriously, though, just like any discussion environment, there are going to be differing opinions & occasionally violent verbal exchanges. That's just a normal part of human communication.

Do you post in Hot Deals? If so then let me tell you that the people there do not represent the general population. People here are very opinionated so it may come off as "mean" but once people get to know you, the forums take on a whole new persona.

I felt the same way when i started posting...alot of these people think they are right 100% of the time so they are gonna jump on ya...I hate it as much as anyone...
 
I dont think people hear are any meaner than anywhere else, but we are very opinionated (myself, definitely included) but I think we are tame compared to, say, usenet groups.

I don't think people in this forum are mean, I find them most of the time to be very helpful and intelligent, albeit very opinionated. But that's what makes it fun, if we all agreed this place would get boring fast. 😉
