The sentence you cite is missing the word "look" (or similar), which in that context is a noun. I am disappoint.

There're verbs in that sentence, no? SON I'M DISAPPOINT. Perhaps there's a typo after "quick" that should've been "quick look"? I dunno. Like I said, I'm disafuckinppoint.

I hate that the following sentence is acceptable in certain parts of the country :

"My phone needs charged."

or

"That house needs painted."

To look is doing something, an action. It's a verb. I am still disappoint.

If the word is proceeded by "a", chances are, it's not a verb ;)

"We just got a quick look..."

The word is look, it's not preceded by "a" although quick was. Stop being disappointments, all of you.
