I have to get a resume under 250k. I've tried to mess with the print settings, tried two PDF compressors and I still can't get my 460k file to under 250. I do not have MS word. Any advice?
Wow you've got something seriously wrong in source your file.
Can you try PrimoPDF? It is a pretty awesome and seamless print-to-pdf driver. You use it just like you would a printer, you select it in your print options. It could not be easier to use. One page of text equates to about 36k in pdf form.
Yay I think I've got it down to 24kb. Wish me luck folks, looking for work sucks these days. I look forward to low unemployment days and hearing employers complain that there is no money left for pay increases.
Good luck! You should download LibreOffice. It makes PDFs, and a bunch of other stuff. It's useful to keep around when you need to whip up a document, and it's completely gratis, and libre.
you can install adobe acrobat, it comes with acrobat distiller which can 'print' to pdf (it's a trial but..). so you can print the document and set properties for specified media (for example 'email', where data is scaled down). i personally use ghostscript to do that work:
