Why are my eyes bothered by a 19" lcd?

This doesn't happen with any other lcd I've encountered and I was wondering if there might be something wrong with it.

FYI I'm its about 4 feet away from me.

Yes I'm running it at its native resolution and I've tried all refresh rates that this moniter can support. For whatever reason, my eyes just seem to be tired when I stare at the screen for a while.

I have used 17" lcds before and this problem does not happen. I have also played around with 19" lcds at retail stores and the moniters there don't bother me at all...

edit: moniter is a Proview 1913s which I got for $250 but I'm seriously thinking that you really do get what you pay for...

First thing I thought of was the same thing as jammur21. Too bright. Seriously, all monitors come with the brightness settings jacked up to 100. It does not need to be that high. It is that high because with a casual view (such as the display models sitting in Staples or Best Buys) it looks great with the brightness jacked up really high. However, when you are working and staring at the monitor it will cause fatigue. If you haven't already, try lowering your brightness to 50%.

..try setting the brightness and contrast at 50% and see how it feels. LCD's seem bright to me so I run my brightness/contrast down till it's comfy.
