Amused: I have started to see getting called a racist by classy as the price of using facts in a debate with him. After he called me a racist, I challenged him to show how I was a racist in a thread a couple weeks ago (this was in the reparations thread, I think), and he never did. He never found anything to justify calling me a racist, and he never apologized. I wouldnt hold your breath waiting for that apology.

You just have to realize that classy doesnt play with a full deck, but what cards he does have all have "RACE" on them in big, bold letters...

And they run around whining calling me a racist. You would be shocked at the pms and emails I have gotten from other members who have told me they were glad to see someone standing up against some of the stuff that has been posted. Just a couple of months ago I got an email from member, an asian guy, who just does trading here and he wrote in the email he was reading some of the older threads and you know what he said. I seen the way you responded in many of the threads, and this is what he said, I quote " I didn't know that many predjudice peeps were in OT". Thats was from an asian guy. So because I don't need the fake @ss online friendships, I respond to the crap posted here. If you quote all the negative stuff about blacks then damn it I got every right to talk about the other side of the issue as well. I have made some miss judgements about some people too. There are certain guys when they post stuff I know they are posting not to be cross burning but just talking about issues. Guys like Red, Glenn, BoberFett, they come off with the right attitude and I respect guys like that. Anandtech has been a great resource and great great board over the years. And its a f'in shame that all a black person can look forward too reading about them as a people group is just bunch of constant negative stuff. KTEN television station in Denison reports that a Sherman mother called police just before noon to say that her 9-year-old nephew had been shot.
One of the investigating officers says the two boys were handling the .22 caliber gun inside the home when it went off.


Unless your a law enforcement agent or hunt which you should only be allowed to own a shot gun there is no reason to own a gun. None. The numbers are just staggering. Guns for protection is a joke. The gun will be used to hurt a family member more than likely. The statistics are so overwhelming only an idiot can still try and make an arguement for gun possesion. You can't compensate for Adulthood or Manhood with a gun.

Classy, the thing that you fail to understand is that, just like you, guns are a tool. Nothing more. Making an argument by using three anecdotes is something that would get you laughed out of a grade school classroom. But I guess it is easier to "argue" that we should "Think of the children!!!", rather than use facts... seeing as the facts do not support your position. After you remove suicides, a gun is much more likely to be used to defend your home successfully than used against a family member, whether by another family member or an intruder. And if someone really wants to kill themselves, they will suceed. Take a look at Japan, virtually no personal gun ownership and a much higher suicide rate.

Just a couple facts to start with, from government sources (I'm not using anything from either the NRA nor HCI):
-In 1996, there were 21 accidental firearm deaths of children under age 15. That same year, 40 children 5 years old and younger drowned in buckets (maybe you should think of the children and ban buckets!). These statistics were released by the CDC in 1999.
-Boys who own legal firearms have a lower rate of delinquency than non-owners of the same age. That little fact is brought to you by the study "Urban Delinquency and Substance Abuse", released in August of 1995 by the US Dept of Justice.

You posted anecdotes (technically facts, if true). I posted statistics from rather impartial sources (as stated in that post, neither from pro-gun nor anti-gun sources). I also posted a few other things without quoting sources, such as "Japan (has) virtually no personal gun ownership and a much higher suicide rate". Both statements, "Japan has virtually no personal (private) gun ownership" and "Japan has a much higher rate of suicide (than the USA)" are facts, and if you really want, I can go find some links to post, however that's like asking me to find a link to support the contention "crack is bad for your health". In your mind, however, I guess those didnt qualify as facts, since "The core of the group with you being another one never use facts. He's right though, blacks only make up 12% of our population yet account for 20+% of serial killers according to the study that guy did.
