Caffeine and other energy drinks can play a part in workouts - and if someone is bulking then sugar carbs aren't exactly horrible (in regards to drinking energy drinks).

That said, my main beef with gyms are when douchebags do grunts so fucking loud it sounds like someones taking a shit of volcanic proportions. We don't care what you're lifting - we don't care who you are. The only thing your grunting does is make me feel like humanity has no hope.

Also, dropping the weight on the last rep is fucking stupid - you're basically cutting corners since putting the weight down appropriately is part of the exercise. It's just some kind of massive douchebaggery of "Hey everyone look at me! I'm grunting real loud and dropping weights so you hopefully turn to me and give me attention!". It's like a real-life example of Facebook attention whores.

I never did that, but I did get some amusement out of watching the women on the treadmills jump every time someone else did it. The thing is, there's various degrees of dropping the weight. There's the guy who keeps his hands on the weight all the way down, but mostly just lets the weight pull him along. That makes almost as much noise as dropping it from full height. There's the guy who makes most of the motion to put the weight down under control, then lets it kind of roll off his fingers for the last few inches. That seems to barely make more noise than setting it down lightly.

Then there's the guy who screams out the last rep in his set, then flat out tosses the weight forward and away from him. That makes a terrible amount of noise and incites a small spark of hatred within me. It doesn't startle me or really impact my workout in any way, but I just hate that guy on general principles.

If Arnie can go into the gym with his stinkin barefeet, then why can't I!

I want to see a study of bodybuilders and their average lifespan just to give me comfort knowing that you are more probable to die sooner by working out all the time and taking supplements such as steroids 24/7.

It would be the ultimate "Ha-Ha" Nelson laugh to say I didn't workout 4 times every week and I lived longer than you.

I don't wipe down every machine I touch either. Suck it. I don't really give a shit. God forbid your immune system get a workout too. What's next? Do we need to wipe down every machine with hand sanitizer after each use too?

I swear the US will implode and everyone will die simply based on weak immune systems.

Yeah because last time I went to the doctor he said "Don't skip lymph node day!"

Why would stupid people cease to be stupid when inside a gym? Or what does the question mean?
