Why are many junior members so ignorant?

if you're referring to this Wompa164 guy...

10 posts hardly qualifies as a NEF. Yea, he sounds like a moron, but everyone here was a junior member once.

um... that's why they're called junior members.

I should probably ask that question (slightly modified) about you. :Q

I don't understand why they just come and attack my sig. I hereby declare that unless you have posted (or neffed) at least 1 thousand times, you shall not be legally allowed to attack my signature ;)

They're ignorant because they're new to the forum. They tend to post before reading the rules and seeing why certain threads are getting locked while others aren't. Some people catch on faster than others, just like in schools. I've seen members and senior members make many posting mistakes too. It's not solely junior members so I would give them a hand and help them out as much as possible.

Well I believe some are ignorant and then get flamed and leave, but some not many actually know how to handle it. Some even know how to debate against illogical and irrational people that wouldn't change their views if a truckload full of facts contrary to their belief hit them in the head.

doobedooobeedooooo

that is why i have my trusty sig... a quote from Fredrich Willhelm Nietzsche.

Why do senior members and above always attack junior members? Is it that they think it is cool or something, or that they are cool. I don't think anyone should be considered ignorant, just beacuase they post something you don't like, agree with, or care for. If you guys continue to keep hassling these newer members, what do you think is going to happen? How can anyone be supportive of such activity?
You should look at yourself, and answer for yourself, what am I doing to make this forum good, and ask yourself if attacking or insulting new members is helpful.
Even though I don't think what anyone says should be seen as good or bad, right or wrong, smart or stupid, they are still saying something, trying to participate even if it is the only way they know how.
I would hope that this thread would be locked, that the moderators would see this as something that detracts from the forum.

If you guys are trying to extend a warm welcome, you might as well at least leave the patio light on and put out a doormat.

But have you seen the Senior memebers who ask the stupidest questions? (don't look at me!) Geez, use the Search button~!

Yea, saw it in NFS4's post about the randy roommate. Someone came in and gave some funky rant on engineers and stuff. I posted a onservation about AMD processors and a junior jumps on me for wasting his time. WTF?!?!? Don't like the thread? Don't read. Then he misses the point of my sig and I too told him to do a search for "Lozer"

when i was referring to the illogical people i was talking about a few senior members and a diamond member i had a nice little thread with.....

Jaydee in that thread Libertarians, after a few messages, completely refused to talk to gandalf or me because we were juniors. Although we made good points against their views many people flat out ignored our arguments.

It's like you guys almost line them up like prey for the killing. Even though they might say silly things, and do things you couldn't see yourself doing, one would thing the older membership of this board would be more supportive and show some direction and leadership other than tearing at the seams.
if you guys spent as much being supportive as you do cutting other people down, you might see an upswing in the content of this forum.

Its just like highschool the elders pick on the younger people although they are -suppose- to be more mature. I would think people who have been here longer would be able to do something without automaticly labeling any argument from a junior as ignorant not based on anything but a stupid label.

What would you senior memebers request, that maybe the junior member goes and posts a couple of hundred or a thousand times, he/she will be better?

Actually yes. If they aren't neffing the whole time, I think they would actually know the rules and what goes on.

Maybe ignorant wasn't the most precise word...rude is probably the most accurate description. This guy just got here and already he's attacking people he doesn't know about a sig which is based on a member who he probably never heard of. Kids these days....back in my day I waited until I was a senior before I insulted Paulson ;)
