Why are Kazaa/Morpheus bitrates so low?

I've used a million different methods to accumulate mp3's, including IRC, FTP trades, Audiogalaxy, Napster, and Kazaa. What strikes me is that I have never even once seen a 160 kbps MP3, much less 192 or 256 kbps MP3 on Kazaa/Morpheus. Napster and Audiogalaxy had high bitrate MP3's, and that's all you ever find on IRC, why the hell is it that even extremely popular songs are never available in high bitrate on Kazaa.

There was a registry fix for Morpheus to allow 128kbps+ mp3s, but there still weren't many available because few people knew about it.

Yup... I wish more people would figure it out, but its now a moot point for me, since my school connection blocks Morpheus

Few people share 256 kbps because most songs are over 10 Mb at that setting. I generally
don't have trouble finding 192 kbps files though.

dont know, dont care.. seeing i couldnt get that program to work.. not sure if it was my router/zonealarm or what.. but that was right before i found out about morpheus, so i really didnt look around for a fix.
