maybe as a reason to get a gamecube so they can be used in conjunction.

heh. i just realized nintendo should sell a $249 gamecube/GBA bundle or something. i'm sure that will bring some more competition for xbox and ps2 as consumers seem to get 2 things for the $300 or under price tag.

You won't want to spend your whole life charging batteries every 2 or so hours of playing. :)

I'm going to hold out in buying a GBA even though they dropped $70 from an initial $129 frenzy to $59 now.

Rumor has it a better GBA is in the works.

I'm suprised to see that Nintendo is bothering with a better GBA. With no competition, it's not like they need to improve to get good buisness. Besides, they're about to hit a tech wall; you can't do "effective" 3D in that kind of space, and with as good of 2D as they've done, I have to ask how they can top themselves.:Q

The MSRP debuted at $99.99 with many places selling it for $89.99. Now most places have it for $59-69.99 because Game Boy Color has been discontinued and they dropped the GBA to hit the same price point.

I highly doubt Nintendo will come out with a back-lit GBA for a while now. Frankly, I don't have a problem with the GBA's screen at all. Granted the first batch of games were dark but the second batch fixed them by being a little brighter. If you're looking to play your GBA in complete darkness why not try Afterburner which lites up your screen quite nicely. Should be available this May.

err, but the lighted screen would be killer, would finally make the damn thing perfect. no having to carry around a bs light, no having to crack open your gba to install a hack:p and with other improvements probably no battery hit at all:)

Some guy made a portable PSX using the LCD screen from a Casio handheld TV and the guts of a PSOne.

It had 3 hours of battery life and it ran off CD's.

Surely if a single guy can do all that by his lonesome, Sony can do much better.

In other words, handheld gaming has NOT hit a technology wall by a long shot.
