Why are dark jeans stiffer?

Seriously, why are darker jeans stiffer or harder than lighter jeans? Even though both are brand new, same kind of denim. Or am I just crazy?

Are you asking why "rinsed" jeans are stiffer than "stonewashed" jeans?
