The process is also time consuming they have several steps to go through for GOOD chroming. Including copper plating etc etc before the chrome is applied. Then the polishing of each piece.
Chroming is not as easy as you might think, first the part has to be manually deburred, then buffed smooth, the part is then acid washed and rinsed.
From there it goes to a copper plating tank for several hours, then rinsed again, from there it goes into a nickel plating tank for several hours, then from there it get's rinsed and finally into the chromium tank for ten minutes, then rinsed again and dried.
also maybe its my personal style, but don't put chrome wheels on a small car.. do a matte or metal color.. the only time its acceptable is on a black car, but even then.. You really need a larger car (bmw 5-series or above) or an suv/truck to do chrome.. it just looks like crap on a smaller car (civic, jetta, accord) .. just my opinion, though
