Why are Chritians so obsessed with a person's private parts.

I guess we throw out the 10 Commandments too. Those are Old Testament.

There remains a difference between the ten commandments and Jewish law. It isn't about throwing out the old testament as much as sections were directed specifically at the Jewish people. The ten commandments remain as a basic definition of what it is to sin despite the fact that we know damn well when we've done something wrong. We just also do a good job of lying to ourselves and making excuses while trying to tell our subconscious to stop being such a nag.

example: "So what if I killed her, she had it coming."

Killing is a sin, as plainly described in the commandments. They remain a valid reference point to every smart a** out there who thinks he/she is above the law.

The way I look at it is Jesus coming to Earth was basically an abandonment of that plan as the Jewish people were just as flawed as the rest of us. Plan D* was to make things simpler, just believe in God to forgive your sinful nature and all will be well. No more telling you how to live every detail of your life or animal sacrifice.
So, basically the New Testament is telling us that the omnipotent, omnipresent, and omniscient god was wrong, and had to devise a new plan?

Just stick to the ten commandments and ask for forgiveness when you don't.
Isn't the 10 commandments Old Testament as well?

*Plan A was a garden which didn't go so well and plan B was a flood but that didn't work either.

So the omnipotent, omnipresent, and omniscient god just keeps getting it wrong, and finally just gives up and says what ever.

In regards to my talking about plans, you shouldn't take my attempt at humor so seriously. A more serious analysis would be a loving parent giving a child multiple chances to reform their behaviour before resorting to escalating levels of punishment.

Just trying to replace sensationalism with contextual analysis, not start some sort of flame war. It is easy to read one sentence of a book and jump to conclusions.

Also read my second post about the Old Testament and the Ten Commandments.

Haters gonna hate.

I find it amusing when people use the argument "oh, but that's in the old testament, Christians these days use the new testament"... until they want to cherry-pick from the old testament to suit their purpose of course.
Except the OP is claiming that the Christians who wrote Deuteronomy were obsessed with genitals, which doesn't make sense because that book predates Christ. If you're going to claim that Christians are obsessed with genitals and your only evidence is a passage that predates the start of Christianity, you've failed to put forward a rational argument.

There's people who don't believe in God and hipster cunts who want to shove down the throat of every person they meet that they don't believe in God. For the latter I hope there is a hell.

Did I say that? No, I don't believe I did.

The OP didn't say that a Christian wrote Deuteronomy either. My wife is obsessed with Harry Potter but didn't write it 🙂
