Why are Bic Macs and Quarter Pounders so much better...

Now I want a couple Royales with Cheese, I think it has been a couple months.

One of life's little guilty pleasures for me.

Yeah, I do that too, but my once every month or two transgression is never wasted at McD's or Burger King. Culver's or Smashburger.

The description is accurate, and I've never been kicked out of a McDonald's for doing it. All the buns that aren't used are discarded. I ended up building one shortly after posting earlier; it seems the price of the McDouble and Junior Chicken have gone up $0.10. I paid $5.73 including tax.
Thanks, I think I'll give it a shot after my workout tomorrow.

My fave FF is Carl's Jr. I used to get a couple of spicy chicken sandwiches, the criss-cut fries and a chocolate shake... every day at work but had to give it up after a while, it was putting on weight. Nowadays maybe every other year I'll get maybe one or two of those sandwiches and the fries and skip the shake.

McChicken sandwich from the value menu, a bit of mayo, honey mustard, fries with sweet & sour sauce for dipping!

Alternatively, Big Mac 🙂

The best burgers are from Wendy's but they are a bit of a drive from here. My husband fortunately makes a mean cheeseburger at home!

The meat tastes and looks the same - of course most of the Big Mac goodness comes from the thousand island-like sauce mixed with some greens.

When I worked at McDonald's (Summer 1993)
By 1993, McDonald's had long been a shadow of whatever it had ever been in the first place. And even back in the early 70s, my mother refused to call what they served "hamburgers", referring to them instead as "little gray patties" and (jokingly) commenting that they were probably better for you than most fast food since, judging by their flavor and texture, they must've been made with a large percentage of soymeal instead of meat. 😀

Big Mac has that thousand island like dressing on it and pickles with the shredded lettuce. Don't underestimate what that sauce does for the burger.

MCD's is nasty. I don't see how anyone eats there outside of breakfast.
I grab something small fairly often just to tide me over when I'm out running errands (it's cheap, ubiquitous and if not "good", at least consistent), but on the rare occasion I eat enough to call it a "full meal", I always end up feeling like I should report to the nearest ER for emergency dialysis with a side order of chelation therapy, so, yeah...

Biscuits 'n' Gravy is what I used to like there (in the 90s). Wonder if it's any good these days.

These days I only go in if my cohorts wish. The food is so sad and underwhelming. Fills me with depression at my lot in life. Fact is most millennials never darken the door.

I hear the recent "breakfast all day" offer helped shore up sales. Also heard McD's execs are now preaching food quality, over speedy fulfillment. All irrelevant to me since I don't patronize.

I see there's a Red Robin burger place under construction near me - worth a look.

The two for $2.50 deal for two mcdoubles is probably the best deal. Though it was better when it was two for two... Could hit the drive through and get a McDouble and small fry for two bucks. With that said, I like the Big Mac sauce a lot more than katsup which could be a factor in their difference in taste. A pity they charge extra for putting the secret sauce on the Mcdouble. 🙁

I'm pretty disappointed that there is legit discussion about eating this shit.

Egg mcmuffin > sum of its parts
Egg mcmuffin > *
Yabbut one of its "parts" is an unnaturally round, kind of rubbery-overcooked pseudo-poached egg. Given the choice, I prefer the unnaturally square, kind of tough-overcooked pseudo-scrambled-egg-meets-omelet on the Sausage/Bacon Biscuit/Muffin "with Egg" sandwiches, myself....😀

they don't charge me extra when i go, and it's mandatory on every mcdouble i get. so tasty and cheap.

Ate McDonalds a ton in my late teens and early 20's. Mostly from being a pothead then. Then I quit McDonalds for like 15 years. Only thing I'd go into a McDonalds for was to take a shit in the bathroom. I don't know where I strayed but the past couple of years I've been eating McD's more often. When the 2 for 5 deal came out the other month I'd get a quarter pounder and a ten piece for $5.35 with tax and was going there 2-3 times a week. Now I'm back to being grossed out by McD's again. I hope I can keep holding off. I feel like I sinned after stuffing my face full of McD's. Something about it is just not Kosher.
