Why is it that guys like Barack Obama, who is as much white as he is black, or Tiger who is only a quarter black and half-Asian, are always looked at as black figures and not anything else?
Barack's case is more understandable as his story is a nice one to publicize--first prominent black presidential candidate to have a real shot at winning--but Tiger's is a little odder since he is really twice as Asian as he is black, and prominent Asians in golf which is mainly a white person's game is just as rare--though Vijay Singh never gets any recognition either for what he's done.
Is it society's desire to elevate black people to higher positions in society, is it because they "look" mainly black, is it the struggles that they've gone through in our history that looks for each great story, or what is it?
