Why are all my google news searches showing USAtoday for everything?

Does anyone else have this problem where any news results the first 10 or so links are all USA today pages?
I hate USAtoday

I have noticed there is a preference for USAtoday as the first link for a story. I know nothing about Google's business practices, other than that they make a lot of money.

I sometimes expand the story before clicking a link.

What's the actual URL?.. With it it's possible to see whether the browser's hijacked, or if it's a spyware problem, or similar.

because google is starting to suck and truth be told I am liking Bing a little more each day.

The only place google is better might be for scholastic stuff. But my school gives me access to about 30 decent databases so I'm pretty much covered anyway.
