Why Americans Hate Democrats?A Dialogue

Great stuff
I grew up in Missouri and most of my family voted for Bush, so I am going to be the one to say it: The election results reflect the decision of the right wing to cultivate and exploit ignorance in the citizenry.
His mother is so proud! I bet she can't wait for Christmas and Thanksgiving so she can be called ignorant. "Pass the green beans you stupid pig."

Ignorance and bloodlust have a long tradition in the United States, especially in the red states. There used to be a kind of hand-to-hand fight on the frontier called a "knock-down-drag-out," where any kind of gouging, biting, or maiming was considered fair. The ancestors of today's red-state voters used to stand around cheering and betting on these fights. When the forces of red and blue encountered one another head-on for the first time in Kansas Territory in 1856, the red forces from Missouri, who had been coveting Indian land across the Missouri River since 1820, entered Kansas and stole the territorial election. The red news media of the day made a practice of inflammatory lying?declaring that the blue folks had shot and killed red folks whom everyone knew were walking around. The worst civilian massacre in American history took place in Lawrence, Kan., in 1862?Quantrill's raid. The red forces, known then as the slave-power, pulled 265 unarmed men from their beds on a Sunday morning and slaughtered them in front of their wives and children.

Here is how ignorance works: First, they put the fear of God into you?if you don't believe in the literal word of the Bible, you will burn in hell. Of course, the literal word of the Bible is tremendously contradictory, and so you must abdicate all critical thinking, and accept a simple but logical system of belief that is dangerous to question. A corollary to this point is that they make sure you understand that Satan resides in the toils and snares of complex thought and so it is best not try it.

The reason the Democrats have lost five of the last seven presidential elections is simple: A generation ago, the big capitalists, who have no morals, as we know, decided to make use of the religious right in their class war against the middle class and against the regulations that were protecting those whom they considered to be their rightful prey?workers and consumers. The architects of this strategy knew perfectly well that they were exploiting, among other unsavory qualities, a long American habit of virulent racism, but they did it anyway, and we see the outcome now?Cheney is the capitalist arm and Bush is the religious arm. They know no boundaries or rules. They are predatory and resentful, amoral, avaricious, and arrogant. Lots of Americans like and admire them because lots of Americans, even those who don't share those same qualities, don't know which end is up. Can the Democrats appeal to such voters? Do they want to? The Republicans have sold their souls for power. Must everyone?

He makes several good points. The election was won on a platform of 'moral values' which does nothing to improve the quality of this country in terms of its economy, security, etc.

Nope, screw em if they can't keep up.

Gotta love the endless litany of hatred and intolerance preached by the liberals in the media. Thye lay the blame on everyone in the world except themselves. They put a substandard candidate on the ballot and he lost, decisively.

The democrat party needs to realize its out of touch with mainstream America.

Oh yeh, someone needs to remind the stupid b!tch that the worst massacre in US history was on 9/11.

America doesn't hate Democrats, just the deviant Evangelical Christians whom, BTW, didn't make up the majority of Bush voters and aren't garthered in hordes like locusts in the Deep South and the Bible Belt..well at least according to Conservatives.

glen I read that... and others, that were actually introspective and non-blaming.

Let these arrogant elites swirl the Dems down the toilet bowl. Maybe eventually, the rational moderates will take their Party back.

my relatives are not ignorant, they are just greedy and full of classic Republican feelings of superiority.

I live in a red state, and I feel safe in saying that the most ignorant people in my red state are blue. The red people are the ones that go to work, pay their bills, and raise their children.

Not hatred or intolerance, facts.

So she's basically saying - 'If you ain't with us you're against us!'?

Good job. Taking cues from the Republicans already. I knew it wouldn't be long.

Does that somehow preclude them from being ignorant?

"Moderates" are what lost this last one. Pandering to the right is a joke. Kerry was not the most liberal canidate ever.
We need someone with some balls who can tell the hatemongers and bigots to go take a hike. Dividing the country along religious lines is NOT american.
I was going to vote for Peltier I should have. a moderate fundamentalist-ass kissing iraqi war extending Kery was a huge mistake.
Were gonan need someone like Ghandi or Mandella or at least someone with some awesome ideas like chomsky to free these american peeps soon if the hate keeps growing in the sheeples mind.
Freakin Jello Biafra 08 no more wussy left -let the dogs loose against the fascists but being moderate is playing right into their hands.
Bring knowledge and peace to reign in the land of the free!

I have difficulty seeing how "Americans hate Democrats" when more than 55 million Americans voted for the Democratic presidential candidate on Tuesday. We live in a really whacked-out country, I think sometimes. And very few people do want to take personal responsibility for themselves, but that's a problem for both red and blue.

*yawn* you mean like the "class" that the Pubs showed after '92 and '96 when they began organizing militias to overthrow the government?

The worst thing about bipartisans IMO is that neither side seems capable of remembering what happened before the last election...

Just thought that was worth repeating.

Apparently, it's becoming more and more evident that the right can't win without cheating. I guess that's real leadership material.
